I'm so excited for my choir concert on thursday! Friday I'll write how it went.
I wonder which one's harder? Band or choir? It depends on how you compare it I guess. Choir you have to have a good voice and band you can learn the instrument and be in it. Both choir and band have to learn what notes are what but choir also has to look at the words as well as the notes. Both choir and band have to watch the conducter lead as we're singing and look at dynamics and where to breathe (for some instruments). One of the most hardest things about choir though is having to stand absolutely still and smile while singing. It's really hard because you just want to move. You try standing absolutely still for thirty minutes.
In all, and I think jordan will disagree with me, I think choir is harder than band.

good luck on your concert this Thursday!! I'm not an expert when it comes to music... so I don't know which is harder. either way what a great talent to have!! (I should've known you'd be a singer... I'll never forget you singing celion deons "my heart will go on" in the shopping cart at macy's when you were 4.)
So I read Jordan your post... he smiled and said Band is harder! But he will have to take that debate up with you himself.
Personally, I think that when you put time and effort into anything worth while-- it is a great thing. Music is a powerful tool that can uplift and bless lives. I am so excited that you love choir and I want to hear you sing! You will have to post a video for us. I am guessing you are singing Christmas songs.
Little known fact: I was in the Choir one year of High School. I remember singing into a microphone alone while the rest of the choir sang along. The teacher listen to the mic sound-- I think it was for grade. I got the feeling that Choir was not my strong talent! I do remember traveling to a choir competition.
Marlo: I did what?!?! that's weird I'd sing Celine Deon in Macy's
Karlene: Your son is a band geek and I am a choir nerd and that's all there is to it :)
Both: I love to sing!
